Sources & credits

The readers include Quranic text, English translation, word meanings, editorial context, and imaginative illustrations. Each reader also provides relevant source links and image captions.

The saved source notices below preserve attribution and licence information for the corresponding datasets. Editable word-gloss and edition files are supplied alongside them. The Quranic Arabic Corpus word-gloss data retains its GNU GPL v3 licence; see the included licence text and individual notices.

Generated illustrations are imaginative interpretations or visual metaphors, not historical evidence. Museum images retain their captions and attributions. Recorded recitation and word pronunciation are streamed from external providers and are not included as audio files in this website package.

Optional recorded English narration is Sahih International, narrated by Ibrahim Walk and streamed from EveryAyah. The written English is also Sahih International, sourced from AlQuran Cloud. Bracketed clarifications and recording editions can differ slightly. Original historical source snapshots are retained for provenance; they are not the current displayed translation. The device-voice option reads the displayed text. The external recordings are not included or relicensed by this package.

Additional recorded translation audio: Urdu (Shamshad Ali Khan) and Persian (Fooladvand, read by Hedayatfar) from EveryAyah; French (Youssouf Leclerc) from the AlQuran Cloud / Islamic Network CDN. The translation language menu changes both written verses and narration. Urdu text: Fateh Muhammad Jalandhry; French text: Muhammad Hamidullah; Persian text: Mohammad Mahdi Fooladvand. Written translations are supplied by AlQuran Cloud. The French recording may differ in wording from the written edition. Turkish narration: Diyanet Vakfi via AlQuran Cloud.
